TUESDAY AFTERNOON BOOK CLUB
Summer is a great time to read wherever you are – in a boat, on your deck or in your favorite chair in an air conditioned room.
Sandra Brown, has written many best- selling novels and the Tuesday Afternoon Book Club read one of her later novels, “Mean Streak”. It is a book that is definitely a page turner.
Dr. Emory Charbonneau, a pediatrician and marathon runner, disappears on a mountain road in North Carolina. By the time her husband, Jeff, miffed over a recent argument, reports her missing, the trail has grown cold. Fog and ice cover the mountainous wilderness and paralyze the search for her. While police suspect her husband, Jeff, of “instant divorce”, Emory, suffering from a head injury from a fall or hit on the head, regains consciousness and finds herself held captive by a man whose violent past is so dark that he won’t even tell her his name. She is determined to escape from him and willing to take any risks necessary to survive.
This suspenseful book continues with unexpected twists and turns that keep you reading until the very last page. Stop by the LeRoy Public Library to find many excellent books for your summer reading.
