RICK CRUME, SELCO/Legacy Genealogy Program
People traveled from Riceville, Austin, Lime Springs, Fairbault, Cresco, & Adams to the LeRoy Public Library which presented a SELCO/Legacy Genealogy Program held this past Tuesday night, October 22nd at 6PM in the Palmer Room of the library basement.
Rick Crume presented Ancestry.com: A GUIDE to the crowd wanting to know more about their “Family Tree.” Those that attended had many questions about how DNA worked and how to find lost family members.
One story told of a families “so called” completed family tree, only to find out that their Great-Grandmother did not like her sister, so she left her and her family members off the family tree!
Ancestry.com boasts a huge collection of more than 18 billion records, plus digitized books and more than 80 million family trees. AncestryDNA has DNA samples from more than 2 million people. Rick shared search strategies and expert tips, as well as advice on how to use Ancestry Member Trees to organize and share your family history.
This program, like all library programs are free and open to the public.
