“Someone We Know,” by Shari Lapena, reads like a “Perry Mason” and “Peyton Place” with a touch of “CSI”. First chapter is a nasty murder, husband reports missing wife, Police and detectives get involved, husband is always first suspect, but alibi is good so search of the neighbors is started. Then we find out who is cheating on who, and everyone knows something. Who can you trust? Parents find out from their son that he has broken into neighbors’ homes to see if he can hack into their computers. Hasn’t been caught but finds clue about the murder. In a small well to do neighborhood their world is turned upside down; it is someone they know. Only one member solved the murder, many had notes, was a page turner.
