LeRoy Evening Book Club
We discussed Lorna Landvik’s, ” Once in a Blue Moon Lodge.”
Pour yourself a cup of coffee or glass of wine and follow Nora as she figures out life after her Mom sells Patty Janes’ House of Curl, her Mom’s beauty shop. All she has on her agenda is a camp fire and marshmallows beside a lake in Northern Minnesota. But the slogan from the past, “expect the unexpected” comes to be. She meets new friends and they mix with old friends and family and become one large diverse, and at times twisted family who care for each other.
Triplets are born, older members form Old Bags for Change, a lost husband is found, a neglected neighbor boy is unofficially adopted, members pass and younger ones leave to start their own lives.
I promise you will laugh, cry, get angry, and agree with some decisions, after all, it is just life.
Lorna Landvik has written many books and they all center around family and small-town living, check them out at the Leroy Public Library. https://selco.ent.sirsi.net/client/en_US/ler/search/results?qu=once+in+a+blue+moon+lodge&te=&lm=LER_LIMIT
