Humor was the topic for the month, they picked “The Stinky Cheese Man” by Jon Scieszka and “Daisy Fay and the Miracle Man” by Frannie Flagg for their reads.    Brenda Kiefer was their guest reader, she read “Stinky Cheese Man” in different voices, she made the characters come alive. Little red hen had a snarky voice, the Princess slept with a bowling ball under her mattress, Little Running Shorts meets a wolf,Jack meets a Giant who wants a story or he will grind his bones.  Just remember to read every square inch of the book or you will miss something. Thank you Brenda for reading to the book club!   

Daisy Fay is a eleven year old who thinks she knows all about life and is coming of age.  The story is written in diary form and she tells readers everything, who or what split her parents up, what is stashed in the Malt Shop freezer, and that her father and his friend killed a man to keep her safe.  The book Club will follow Daisy Fay until she wins the “Miss Mississippi” contest and is on her way to Atlantic City.  This book will make you laugh out loud and remember your youth.
