Evening Book Club
Our selection for July was “Ask Again, Yes” by Mary Beth Keaton, a page turner as readers were always looking for the next event and “why”.
Two rookie cops in the NYPD live next door to each other in the suburbs and what happens behind closed doors in both houses- the loneliness of Francis wife Lena and the instability of Anne, Brian’s wife sets the explosive events for the next couple of decades.
“Ask Again, Yes” is a story of friendship that blossoms into love for Peter, son of Brian and Anne, and Kate, daughter of Francis and Lena. Story reveals how childhood memories change over time, for the better or the worse.
Forgiveness is the theme, everyone forgives each other and accepts that life is what it is, not what could have happened. Can you do that?
Reminds readers that mental health and alcoholism not only effects the individual but their whole family and all their friends, in the present and the future.
